Bespoke Weddings

Every wedding is unique just like every couple...

When planning a wedding you may feel oerwhelmed wto say the least. There are endless choices when it comes to wedding decor and its easy to get a bit lost when finding inspiration.

I think wedding flowers should reflect the personalities of the couple getting married, if your darig then let your flowers reflect that. If you one is daring and one is shy then let that be seen in the balance of flowers used throughout the celebration.

There are no limitatios when it comes to fabric flowers, literally any flower in any colour can be made and the best part is that the flowers last forever so you could be admiring your wedding bouquet while celebrating your 50th wedding anniversary.

You Make the Rules, its your day......

Above is a picture of two bridesmaids bouquets. One created with yellow, lilac and light peach fabric and the other with pink cream and light peach fabric. At the top right is a brides bouquet that is created using a mixutre of both the colour fabrics of the bridesmaids bouquets. Above to the right is a buttonhole made for a groom which is also a mixture of both colour schemes so it matches the brides bouquet perfectly.

From Bouquets to Buttonholes

Brides Bouquets

The bridal bouquet is almost an extention of the wedding dress. A bride knows how important it is to find the right dress, the same can be said for the bouquet. It is what the bride holds to walk down the aisle on one of the biggest days of her life and should reflect her personality and be completely unique.

Bridesmaids Bouquet

Bridesmaides Bouquets dont need to be the same, infact they can be as creative and individual as the bridesmaids personalities.

Buttonholes

Buttonholes are a great way to carry on the colour scheme by matching the bouquet flowers. The groomsmen can all have identical or diffrent buttonholes and size can also be adjusted so that any children wearing them can have smaller versions.

Cake Toppers

Exactly the same flowers used throughout the bouquets and buttonholes can also be used as cake toppers. Having non edible fabric flowers on top of the cake is a cheaper way to decorate a plain wedding cake and also at the same time tie in the theme perfectly.

Table Decorations

Table decorations just like cake toppers can be made in exactly the same way as the flowers in the bouquets and buttonholes. Having fabric flowers as table decorations can also double up as a sweet way to give the guests a small keepsake from the big day.

From Start to Finish...

When it comes to creating wedding flowers the first thing I do is create a mood board using the colours the bride and groom have chosen. Its a simple way of creating a visual aid to see how the colours compliment each ofter.

Next I ask the Bride and Groom to decide on what types of flowers they would like their wedding flowers to be made of. Usually they already know exactly the types and colours but if they are not sure I encourage them to look through my portfolios and send me screen shots of which types of flowers they would like included. Above is a small collage of the types of flowers the Bride and Groom have chosen.

The next step is to discuss leaves. My portfolio consists of lots of different flowers and leaves so I encourage customers to message me screen shots of the leaves they like.

Once we have decided on which flowers will be made with which fabric I start turning the fabrics in to flowers. I send work in progress pictures to the cutomer so they can see how the flowers are coming along.

To the left is a work in progress picture of some of the leaves before they were finished and used to construct the first bouquet.

Once all of the flowers and leaves are created I start playing around with the positioning and constructing buttonholes and bouquets. This is a trial and error stage and I send regular pictures to the cutomer to see what they like and what they would like changed.

Bridesmaids & Groomsmen

Matching or Diffrent?

The colours used for the Bridesmaids Bouquets and the Groomsmen Buttonholes can be the same as the Brides Bouquet or divided in to two colour schemes so that the Bridesmaid Bouquets and Buttonholes are diffrent yet both match the Bridesmaid bouquet and the Grooms Buttonhole. This can be done by dividing the colours below is an example.

Bridesmaid Bouquet and Buttonhole # 1

This is an example is made from Light Peach, Baby Pink and Cream.

Bridesmaid Bouquet and Buttonhole # 2

Themed Weddings...

Every wedding is unique just like every couple...

Every individual is unique and every couple is too. Sometimes couples are mutual fans of certain themes such as films, books and even certain animals. Why not use the themes you love on your wedding day?

That mutual love for a specific theme can now be incorporated into your special day in the form of the wedding flowers. It doesn't matter what the theme is, if its special to your relationship them you have the option to celebrate it while you celebrate your ceremony of marriage.

There is no limit when it comes to your wedding. Weddings are a celebration of love so celebrate using themes you love.

Celebrate what you love......

Buttonholes are a great way to carry on a theme while still allowing the groomsmen to wear formal suits. The size can also be adjusted so that any children wearing them can have smaller versions so the proportion of flower to suit is consistent throughout.
